Early morning, only 1 cup of coffee.
Is the sync connector on a camera a "female" end? Meaning, the other end of my sync cord from my flash is a "male" end right?

This is part of my Acme shutter that has a bipost. I searched B&H and they have a bipost to female end which means and if I am right, I can attach my basic old sync cord to the end of that.

Yes, you need a female end on your shutter.

I have a synch cord extension that has a female on one end and a male on the other.

The bi-post to female cord very likely is to a female household receptacle. These were common on Heiland and similar flashguns.

You need a bi-post to PC cord.

I think I need to rephrase the question.

The sync cord I see is bipost to PC female. Is a PC female the same as what's on a camera? If so, this means I can use my regular PC cord from my flash and connect it to the bipost to female.

How about an ascii drawing

[flash]----pc_cord-----male_end {} female end--------bipost[acme_shutter]

The end of my flash cord is a male_end right?

I think I need another cup of coffee.

In flash photography, I always assumed that PC stands for "Precarious Connection".

You are correct on all the above. I also have a Bi-Post to PC female, a Paramount brand that I bought at B&H. Works great!
