Ok, but what was it about this that stopped you dead, and why is it posted in the "hidden from search engines" forum rather than the "Photographers" forum?

What pdeeh said. Kristen is pretty, and her photos are nice, and her "story" is interesting. I don't see a mention of a husband?? Perhaps I have become "jaded" over the decades, but I didn't see anything that would "stop me in my tracks." What did I miss?

Well to be honest I didn’t really know what to give as a subject title to this post.

And foolishly, naively, misguidedly, I wasn’t looking for a photo critique of the photographers work but something more in terms of… mobilization?

I don’t know this person but I believe they are “one of us”, part of the analogue community. She’s studied photography, she uses and loves film and has a makeshift darkroom. She even does projects.
She has a story to tell and she is every piece of that story just as much as her subjects.
She’s not asking for anything but I was touched by her images and her blog.

So call it altruism, call it philanthropy, call it sponsorship but I feel she and her project deserve some support. So forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong place and in the wrong way but I didn't see any suitable forum for this thread. And in my view, APUG is the best placed social network when it comes to all things to do with analogue photography but if I'm way off mark, then moderators, please feel free to delete this post.

Nobody has said that you shouldn't have posted it or that it should be deleted.

But if you want to help publicise someone's work, then posting it in the thread "hidden from search engines" isn't likely to increase coverage for them (it's mostly a place used to moan about product or service without condemning them to eternal internet damnation in case it was just a glitch).

There's a "photographers" forum for boosting or bringing to attention or discussing other photographers' work where I'd guess you'd get more clicks.

As far as title goes, "stopped me dead ..." could imply you though it was fantastic or it could easily imply you thought it was awful in some way. Posting in the "hidden" forum might easily support the latter inference.

They're perfectly nice photos. They're nothing special to me, though clearly having a disabled child shot from child-height is a good tugger of heartstrings.

It's great that she's using film, but the fact that she does doesn't in itself confer greatness upon her photographs.

(People have a variety of different responses to photographs. The fact that I don't see anything special going on doesn't mean that in 10 years time she won't be seen as the inheritor of - I dunno - Sally Mann's mantle?
But you can't stop people having a reaction, or expressing it, whether or not it's contrary to yours)

I enjoyed her photos very much especially since I also have a baby girl.

I thought the web site was uninteresting. Maybe this person or these people are very interesting in real life, but in the digital world, its the same ol', same ol'. move on. . . . . . . nothing to see her folks!!!

Tugs at the heartstrings, but as far as photography goes...

Don't know for the forum but as far as the title goes, for me it is typical from the clickbait system we see everywhere nowadays.
The kind of :" A man opens his garage. You won't believe what he sees inside"

Lots of us clicked on the post just because of the "... it stopped me dead in my tracks".

Another moderator moved the thread, and I've updated the title. Please use a descriptive title.

For a young, 20's-something photographer, she's actually not bad at all. A few really nice shots in her portfolio. If she keeps up her passion for photography, I think she will develop into an exceptionally good photographer.

re: the husband issue: I was just wondering if she was raising her children by herself, and still finding time to pursue her passion for photography. Blessings to her, and may her karmic winds blow favorably.

Thanks for sharing, I like her stuff. No...it's not the best thing I've ever seen but I've seen a lot worse here on APUG. I also like them because they mean something, they have lasting value for those involved. In my opinion, the best kind of photography is that which freezes a moment, and interaction between folks or of folks so that we can enjoy those moments after they are gone. My fondest memories are of when we'd haul out the shoebox of prints on a saturday night and go through the photos; blurry, out of focus, mis-framed, cliche, and all the rest.
I can do without another "landscape with angry clouds" image or another "woman in street cafe checking her phone" image but this is where it's at for me.
Don't apologize for being enthusiastic about it.

Too many images to really be able to appreciate the work. This is just mho

Thank you for sharing. I think there are some real gems in there. Some editing needed to strengthen the series, but overall quite touching and personal.
