Shutter won't open

To the OP: if you really want a good Retinette, may I suggest buying one directly from Chris Sherlock (NZ Kodak technician who recently retired, but still sells cameras he has serviced). You can get a fully functional Retinatte 1A for $200 NZ (which equates to roughly $120 USD) which is an amazingly good deal.
That way, you get a camera that you can count on for years to come, for less than it would likely cost you to service yours here in the USA.
