After having no problems at all for years, my nikon F90 (N90) has a problem.
We were in brugge, belgium, so I wanted to take some nice pics, shot the last few frames of my roll, put in a new roll of film and after 2 shots, ERR on the small screen rewinded the film, checked and replaced the batteries (they still were OK) but still ERR so i took no more pics
. Back home, checked the F90 again.
The shutter doesnt open anymore. I here the first click (to open the curtain) and this sounds normal (but doesnt open the curtain) but then it takes a second or more to hear the second click (to close it) and it is not only very late (1sec) but it sounds like it is stuck or scraping to something else
I dont have a repair manual, but I repaired some other, very old mechanical photo devices. Can i risk it to open my F90 and take a peak inside or do I return it for a repair (and pay perhaps even more then it coast me, it is a second hand camera) ???
I still have my F70 to keep on taking pics but I like the F90 more because of its DOF controle button and it uses normal AA bateries, can be found everywere
Thanks for the help,
Tom
