Can someone recommend a shutter release for a Nikon FE2? I'm not sure if shutter releases for older film cameras are specific to the model, or if there are general ones you can use with any camera.

Thanks!

I don't have an FE2, but if the shutter button has a screw-hole in the top, you can use a standard mechanical cable release. That type is nearly universal, as opposed to electronic releases.

Terminology

A shutter release is the button or the mechanism that actuates the shutter, in any case part of the camera.

What you are refering to is designated as cable release.
