Hi! So I just got a Mamiya 645e and found that after the film has been inserted/wound the camera will fire all fine but then after the second wind the button depresses without the shutter going off. I have all of the switches and knobs set correctly. Any ideas why this might be?

Welcome to Photrio.
The Mamiya 645 cameras are quite demanding when it comes to batteries, and many problems track back to partially discharged batteries and battery contacts that require cleaning. In addition, I've had much better response from silver-oxide versions of the batteries (historically designated as PX-28, but now 4SR44) than the alkaline versions (4LR44). The 645e is also able to use the lithium 2CR 1/3 N, but I haven't any experience with them.
