Hi all,
I recently purchased a Leica IC and have shot 5 rolls on it now. First roll was shot in gray weather or indoors and all negatives were fine.
The next 4 rolls were shot in very sunny weather. Not all negatives, but many (10-15) had very clear white marks in multiple locations. Same locations every time. I have not left my camera sitting in the sun for extended periods of time. Maybe for 15 min max while sitting at a cafe. But not with the lens facing the sun.

Are these spots holes in the shutter curtain?
Are they something else?

Any help is highly appreciated.

It looks like curtain holes to me. As you say, they are all positioned exactly the same, so they must have happened when the film was stopped in the gate. You don't need direct sunlight to make this happen--a bright sky will do it. Film is sensitive stuf; you only need a moment of exposure to light coming through a pinhole to make a bright spot on the film.

Holes in the shutter curtain for sure.

Send to YYeCamera ASAP. He did a great job on my IIIF/

Film is more sensitive than the human eye. The hole doesn't need to be completely punched through or terribly big to look like a giant white blob on the film when it's enlarged.
