Shutter button for Kodak #4 Panoram camera

I have a Kodak #4 Panoram camera that is missing the shutter trip button. From what I have learned so far is that it is a threaded piece of rod and by the size of the hole that is in the top of the camera it is 1/8" in diameter, but I can't find it on any of the patent drawings that I have found. The part number is 49 from what I've found out from online searches.

Can anybody confirm that it is a 1/8" diameter threaded metal rod and what type of thread it is.

Well, not certain of the actual situation. But here is a small chart giving nominal dimension for screws. If the rod needs to slide in a 1/8" (.125) hole, I'd start with a #4. Kodak used standard threading in most cases, so I'd imagine a #4-40 is a good place to start. #5 is an oddball size, rarely seen. You could get a #4 and a #6 and see which one fits. Then find a long screw, or thread the end of a proper sized rod and see if you het the right threading.

Hi Dan: thanks for the info. The only problem I might run into is if it is a left hand thread. But we'll see.
