I have throughly enjoyed this weekend in Matthew Blais' Riverside.
I have enjoyed getting acquainted with some great individuals and also tying the bonds with some of the photographers I had met already in the past.
The work, as it has been said was of prime quality, and I believe that for this reason and for the camaraderie developed amongst all of us, SHOW UP will be a recurrent dream in the maze of nightmares of photography exhibits.
Who knows, we might also expand it to more than just exhibits.... what do you say Matt?
Matthew Blais, oh temperamental one, thank you for your commitment, capability and friendship.
Julie Brandreth, I have enjoyed talking crap with you about Obama.
Gustavo Castilla, We missed you, damned!
Dan Dozer, is a reserved man who, once warmed up, is one of the most charming persons to meet.
Jim Fitzgerald is a talented craftsman, and Jim, your son is a rare talent!
Patti Lemke unfortunately was able to come only on Sunday, but it was nice meeting you nevertheless.
Tori Nelson. What can I say about this woman? A real sweetheart who is not afraid to show also her most charmingly aggressive side. I love you Tori.
Per Volquartz. A soft spoken gentle man who weights his words, polishes them and proffers them to get straight to the point. A PEaRl of a man.
Vinny Walsh, a genuine man from Michigan, with the heart the size of his head. The same can be said for Stacy, his wife, except that she is a woman.
Again, the most valuable thing I came back home with on SUnday, was the experience of tightening ties with people who share my same "curse", that inextinguishable hunger to filter the world through our eyes and hearts. I have loved much of the work on display, in some occasions I have been deeply moved and inspired. This is another great result of this kind of gatherings: the renewal of that creative flow, that if not stirred by external factors, does get stagnant.
Thank you all.
