As long as you are aware of your immediate surroundings there shouldn't be an issue and anyway if photographers were concerned about that we would never take any pictures.

I went to Nepal and China with Hasselblads, Leicas and a few different types of Nikons. (Once even with a Crown Graphic!) Never had an issue, even in crowded cities at nights...a big part of that, I think, is due to being aware of my cameras, keeping them near and being observant of my surroundings.
One thing that helped me with that was how I carried them, specifically my bags. I had good luck with a LowePro 'slingshot' type bag, the 200 if I recall correctly. Kept things close and secure and was easy to carry for long periods of time, too.
Lots of designs for bags out there, and with those two cameras you don't need a huge one, either.
