Where are my old roller transport hands? As some of you may know we run a Colex C41 RT machine with a 20" throat. This time of year we do deep cleans of all our equipment and I'd like to do a little more to some of our racks.

Specifically, if you've run one of these machines, you know they have rollers on both sides of the rack, plus a set in the middle. The outside ones are easy to clean, the inner ones are much more challenging to get at.

Also, the rollers themselves have pins on either end, that sit in little plastic housings. The plastic housings sit in the side-walls of the racks. The racks are connected physically also with these cross bars that 'appear' to simply be glued into holes on each side. They don't appear to have threads and they don't spin.

I have a whole bunch of spare plastic housings for the side-pins, which indicates to me that I am supposed to be able to swap them as they wear out. But I have no idea how to separate the racks to do it! Colex is a little hard to get ahold of on these. I think they want to mostly wash their hands of their old RT machine support...who knows how many of us are left running these things?

So yeah, total shot in the dark but if anyone has any knowledge about disassembling a rack, please let me know.

I wish I could help... I ran a Colenta C-41 roller transport machine in the early '80's.
Too long ago & I don't remember...sorry!

Hah well I appreciate it. Just try to imagine yourself cleaning a processing rack, maybe the memories will come back. I doubt the rack design changed from the 80s to the 90s. I see even Colenta is using the same basic rack structure.
