If you ever seen one of Irving Penn's prints, they're amazing. As you know, he never had the benefit of having computers and digital negs. With the advent of inkjet, there has been a resurgence of the process. I have a feeling that Penn enlarged his negs which requires mastery of the process.Very interesting. Thanks for the link. I wonder if the need to do several layers becomes somewhat less imperative if one is using a digital negative. Except the case where the goal is increasing the Dmax.
