You can scan it then print it on an inkjet printer. Good used film scanners (Nikon and Minolta) are widely available on eBay still and quite affordable. Just avoid the top of the line models and they are quite inexpensive. Top of the line models do give you highest pixel sizes but unless you need to print very large prints you don't need them. I have two Minolta Dimage Multi and have been very happy with them. The reason I got the 2nd one was to make sure I have a back up. THe max size of my Epson printer is 13"x"19". The Dimage Multi gives me plenty of pixels for that size. You may find it a very good alternative to printing with Ilfochrome.

Printing with a stink-jet does not compare to printing with chemical processing.

Or even better, have the lab print the digital file on to real photographic paper.

Where do you have your 4x5 slide film processed? I have a box of 4x5 Velvia I have been wanting to use, but I haven't found the right plane to do so, and I have no idea where to have it processed.

I now have a Opticfilm 7300, found it going for peanuts on a Facebook page
Not exactly a top of the range scanner, but plenty good enough for what I'm doing.
Though at a later date I might have a go at reversal RA4, mainly just for the fun of it.

I jumped right in and developed my own.

I have a simple method, take a big container and put my chemical bottles in it, along with a gallon jug of water. Then pour in hot water 20-30 degrees hotter than the working temperature of the chemicals and wait 30 minutes. I can add hot water to keep the chemicals stable at 104 f. I do all this in the bath tub as the container is pretty large.

Its really very easy to process your own E-6 or C-41. I thought it would be much harder than it actually is.

I can tell you, the first time you take a 4x5 color slide out of the daylight tank, its magic.

I send mine to Dodge-Chrome in Silver Spring, MD. Out west, you might try Denver Digital Imaging Center, Denver, CO.

I have no affiliation with either one, other than being a satisfied customer of Dodge-Chrome.

I'm terrified to try the C-41 processing kit I bought from Freestyle. I'm sure I'd be absolutely petrified to try developing the Velvia -- that stuff is too expensive for me to experiment on.

How good will it be if the process is no longer available as TattiJJ pointed out? Have you stinkjet printed with Epson Professional wide format printer that use all pigment based inks?

There is no comparison if one of the two for comparing is non-existent. Besides, RVP-50 is (was) one of the most difficult films to print with the chemical process. But with scanning it can be photoshopped and you can then print it with the stinkin-jet. Yes, it is stinky because the Epson printer I am talking about runs near $1k a piece and the ink it uses costs an arm and a leg. But the print will last more than 100 years. The only drawback is it is not something average RVP-50 shooters can afford.

No way I can afford all that fancy printer trickery!
For now it will be scanning and sending to someone else to print.
One day I might attempt a reversal RA4 though.

i had one of those stinking epson $2000 printers. when it worked it was the best home option i could find and the results were great. then life happens, i wind up in the hospital for a month and come home to a completely non functioning dead "head" printer. more to replace the ink head than i paid for the printer. of course it was 6 months out of warranty. no love or anything from epson except "thats not our problem" great reply from them. never again will i own anything epson.

now my darkroom enlarger. if it goes years without use it will still work and function good as new. hence my reason for moving to 99% film for all my shooting.
