Hi,

I recently got my hands on a Polaroid Model 180 Land Camera and some original Polaroid 667 Land Film expired 05/80 which I tried using for a project. I've shot some newer Impossible films, but never original, and never Land Film so I've never gone through the whole negative-developing process. I read the instructions and roughly know what to do (draw white stripe, draw yellow stripe, develop, take away negative from positive, store). It's an ASA 3000 film and recommended development times are: 24° C: 30 sec, 21° C: 45 sec, 18° C: 60 sec, 10° C: 90 sec. I was wondering how much I should adjust these times, given the age of the film, and if there was anything else I need to think about when shooting Land Film. I've cleaned the rolls, the mechanics seem to work, so I'm hoping to be able to start soon.

Thanks for any advice!

The big issue is that the packets dry out and that is that, once it happens there is no way I have ever heard to remedy it and I would guess it is impossible. You will likely know immediately if the packets are shot, when you pull the film the two parts will not stick together.

As for times, it makes sense a little extra could be needed, but all I can advise is to test.

I got a Hasselblad with a Polaroid back that had some film in it that expired in the 90s, couple shots left. It worked in that it processed and formed an image...but I wouldn't have spent any money on another pack of film to replicate the results, if you know what I mean, even just a couple bucks. This coming from a guy that has bought many many thrift store and flea market/swap meet Polaroid integral film cameras just for the expired Polaroid film inside them.

I'd buy some FP100C or FP3000B (can still find both pretty easily at varying prices) and shoot the heck of that 180 while you still can.
