The vintage 47 will be noticebly less contrasty wide open, and the edges will soften up a good bit. Probably darken the edges a little. But it isn't unpleasant...no reason to not shoot it !
I find the 47 on my Graflex SW useable wide open if essential.
I have not done enough testing to determine if the vignetting is influenced by the hood

At f8 (wide open don't enlarge beyond 5x7 or so) and you will be happy. At f11 the lens is excellent at any enlargement, at f16 wonderful, at f22 diffraction begins to show, at f32 it is worse. F16 is the sweet spot for this lens with f 11 coming in a very close 2nd. Emile/www.deleon-ulf.com.
