Shiraishi Shrine's First Torii Gate

Just outside of my wife's hometown of Kurume, Japan, is a lovely Shinto Shrine, tucked up in the hills. I was more interested in their Torii gate, and wanted to get some photos of it. I wanted to continue on to see the shrine, but the heat and humidity got me in the end...

Next time ask someone to turn down the heat. Great video. I even felt the heat. It was better in the shade.

Just the sound of insects makes me feel hot! I recall dripping with sweat after just an easy, mid-morning walk from my beach hotel to Aoshima Shrine in Miyazaki.

The sounds of semi (cicada) indicate Summer... along with the heat and humidity. Miyazaki prefecture was just south of me. Will explore more of Kyushu when I move back to Japan, in the very near future...
