I have a Shen Hao PTB and I have a 150mm lens at the moment with this camera. I am thinking of getting a Horseman 6x9 roll film back to go on this camera. However i'm quite new to large format cameras and I know that the wideness of the lenses with large format changes than what it would be in 120 and 35mm. I want to mainly do landscapes with this camera and the question is, is a 150mm lens suitable to use with the 6X9 back or is a wider lens needed to get a decent amount of the landscape in.

Thanks.

The 150 would be a slightly long lens for 69 Wide would be in the 90-100 range, possibly as short as 75mm.
I think the Fuji 6X9 rangefinder used about a 90.
Think of looking at the GG & masking off a 6X9 section, by doing this you are bringing the center of the composition "closer". Sorta-kinda.

Oh yeah I didn't think about masking it off. But yeah it would be cropping into the lens and be closer. And with regards to the fuji 6X9 I think it has got a 90. When I used my friends 6X9 I think it had a 90mm. Thanks anyways.

The RB & 7/7ll use 50 & 65 for wides if you can find something like that that covers 6X9 you would be in like Flynn.

So I would use the same type of lenses that are wide on medium format to become wide when the back is attached because it crops into the film.
