Just received mine from Badger and as usual, installation instructions are non-existent (a Shen-Hao quirk that is really beginning to get on my last nerve).
Now I realize that it's a pretty simple job but as there are no pre-drilled holes, I'm not real sure about the best way to install it, the best orientation, etc.
I would really appreciate any tips from those of you who have these things installed on your Shen-Haos. Thanks so much!!
It looks the same as the Toyo folding focusing hood. On the Toyo hood, the pin on one side is spring loaded, and the other is fixed. That allows the spring-loaded side to fit into a hole on the inside edge of the back, almost at the edge, and the other pin slides into a corresponding hole on the other side.
Looks like a nice accessory. You might try the Shen-Hao Users Forum to see if anyone has installed it. I installed a compendium hood on my Shen-Hao; and, after the trauma of drilling into the front standard, it works fine. Seems like with teak the screws & holes do not have to be large in order to hold well.
