Shelf life of Kodak HT-2 solution

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew what the shelf life of Kodak HT-2 hypo test solution is? Kodak pub J-11 doesn't specify.

I have it stored in a brown glass bottle out of direct light.

I find, in regular practice, that even a 500ml bottle takes a long time to use up.

I prepare this solution myself once a year.I would not trust it fully after about 6 monthsbut then,you use it once to establish your processing procedureand your done with it.Don't spend your life testing;make some prints!(look who's talking)

This (IIRC) is a solution of Silver Nitrate in Acetic Acid. It should keep just about forever as long as it does not turn brown or form a precipitate in the bottle.

Thank you, PE. I suspected it was pretty stable. I'll have a look at the colour next time I'm in the darkroom.

IDK about the colour, but the color has to be good. It should look just like water and not wateur!
