Hi Ive recently acquired a Welta 9X12 plate camera, I have a 120 roll film back for it but I would really like some Cut film holders for it
I have one which came with the camera, but it doesnt fit properly, the lip appears to be too thick for the groove in the back of the camera.
if anyone has a couple of the correct film holders they would like to sell, I would like to buy them.

Thanks

Griff

I have lots of these things sitting around, but I don't know which one fits your camera. Careful measurement and/or a picture of the slides from the roll back would help. Here is a guide, but there is also a good sticky thread around here somewhere with all sorts of useful info on which holders you need for which camera. When you figure it out, PM me and I can get you some.

Sorry, The pictures aren't clear enough for me to see what the spacing might be on the side channels or the thickness of the flange that slides into the camera. Can you send me any measurements?

I have lots of plate holders, with film adapters, that I will happily supply to you for a donation to APUG, but I want to send the proper ones the first time.

I have others but I'm not sure what I've done with them, I have serious family health issues at the moment which mean everything is extremely unpredictable. Sudden doctors or hospital visits . . . . . . . . .

From memory I think I have the file with Welta holders finished, if I get a chance I'll try and find it tomorrow afternoon (hospital in the morning). I have a few hundred 9x12 holders sorted by edge type so I might be able to help.

You (OP) actually need 9x12 plate holders and then some film adapters which are standard regardless of the make, I seem to remember the Welta holders are one of the common types.

Griff, I've found my notes and the drawings I'm still working on but no mention of which type fit Welta, I thought there was.

We need better photos to really help identify which holders should fit.

It is, Ian. Sorry to have skipped the credit. As I noted, I had it on my phone screen forgot completely where I might have gotten it. Mea Culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. Thanks for reposting it in a usable format.

Gents, Than you so much for your efforts, I really appreciate it, I have taken some measurements from the focusing screen plate, the part which actually fits against the camera is 100mm from edge to edge across the width, and 150mm edge to edge in length, the lip which fits in to the camera groove is about 0.5 mm thick, and the distance between the lip and the back of the plate is around 2.5-3mm wide to allow for the thickness of the camera groove and the leather covering, I ve done a rough diagram in MS paint of all things I hope that this might help!!

Here is a link to a RADA Mettallwarrenfabrik catalogue I finally found and put in my dropbox. Feel free to download it. It lists the Welta plate as similar to the Contessa-Nettel as well as the Steinheil and ICA cameras. Ian has those as different plate holders and he is working from real info, not an old catalogue, so I don't know if it will help. I think I have a few of the ones you need, one here at home and a few more at the warehouse. I'll get four or so together if I can and mail them to you. If they fit, send a donation to APUG for what you feel they are worth. If they don't maybe you should buy another camera that they will fit? or give them away.

I found the Rada catalogue a bit misleading, plate holders listed as being the same fit aren't. Contessa-Nettel holders don't fit my Patent-Etui for instance.

The diagram for the Welta, Contessa-Nettel etc holders is rather unclear as they all need holders with a lip. I'm slowly building up a better resource but one problem is manufacturers altered cameras to accept more common backs after a while. So my Patent Etui in Turkey uses slightly different palte holders to the one I have here in the UK.

Well Contessa-Nettel holders didn't quite fit Griff's 9x12 Welta camera which turned out to be identical to my 9x12 Rodenstock camera, the only slight difference was the focus scale. So now I at least knowe who made the Rodenstock camera :D

I did find two spare plate holder for Griff.

Hi Mauro,

Here are some typenumbers for the plateholders of the Deckrullo:

37-C292bHolo.jpg

Further, I thought you already had plateholders for your Juwel: ICA or Zeiss-number 737/13

For your 9x12 Palmos, you should look for these holders, they have ICA-number 739/6:

Your Zeiss Miroflex makes use of different plateholders, Zeiss-number 665/7:

I may have read that Ihagee had its own proprietary holders, don't have any of them - hard to find (as the ICA and Zeiss), and I may have read this is also the case for the Welta cameras.

Useful I have one or two of those and hadn't identified them, I've a lot of holders that need identifying and getting passed on to people that need them.
