I have been searching for a while, for spool end film cutter, to facilitate bulk loading 35mm film. And specifically one that cuts the spoil end in the way it attaches to Ilford type of film spools. After some searching I found this company who sells what I am looking for. Unfortunately only provides a version that will cut a Fuji film spool end.

I have contacted Reflxlab a while ago, and they would be willing to provide such a cutter made for Ilford type spools, only for a minimum order of 3 units, at a price per cutter of about 85 $. As I need only one, are there people who would be interested in sharing in such an order? I am in Europe. Thanks.

P.S. I am familiar with the myriad of ways people attach their film to film spools in their bulk loading. I am not really interested in that.

It's your money of course but I have always found it OK to simply tape the end of the film to the spindle when bulk loading and have never experienced it coming loose

So let's please stay with the question whether people want to participate in this purchase.

Also, we're discussing as moderators whether this is subject to the Classifieds rules; it's a bit of a borderline situation, but it being a 'group buy' and not really a 'for sale', we may leave this thread in its current place - for now, let's do it that way.

I have been thinking about approaching Ilford with just this question; though obviously they don't trim their films by hand.

Yes, if this thread can get a third person, I would certainly be interested (I'm not technically in Europe but I am spiritually, so to speak).

Thanks. I will keep you posted. I am in Europe, but spiritually feel less and less so... Ireland is Europe isn't it? And photographic Walhalla at the same time?

Can I repost this in the classifieds section? It doesn't seem to get much views here.

Technically, no, at least not without a (paid) subscriber account...
If it's any consolation: most people browse this forum by looking at the recent posts list and in that case it doesn't really matter where it's posted. Which means that it's unlikely you'll get all that many more views if we move this to the Classifieds.
