Apparently their last full day at the Ashby Ave store is Monday 24th June 2024. The new location is 'somewhere in Berkeley'. Where ever it is, I hope they have some decent parking options - that was one benefit of the Ashby location.

I still miss the old Telegraph Ave location - I could walk there from work in my lunch hour!

Looks like they opened that location in the same year I left Berkeley: 2014. That explains why the name felt familiar but I've never gone there. I lived on Dwight Way for 3 years.

Got an email from Looking Glass today saying their new location will be on 5th Street. Well 5th Street is quite long. If it's a block or two north of University Avenue that would put them in close proximity to the shopping district known as "4th Street." Or they could be blocks and blocks south of University...

I started going there when they first began on Telegraph back in the 1970's. Among other things back then they stocked 25 sheet boxes of 8 x 10 Super Double X. Good times.

Used to drop in to their Ashby location from time-to-time when I was back in the east bay (moved away on retiring in 2006). It's been some time since I was there.
