I am having a problem with a Nikon F-36 motor drive; as soon as power is applied to the unit, it runs continuously. The service manual indicates that one of the relay contacts in the drive body needs to be bent back into place, but that isn't the problem; it's an assembly which is not resetting and forcing the relay contacts open.

I have mounted the battery pack and connector on to another motorized F, and they perform perfectly. Also, if I mount the defective motor on to the other F, it exhibits the same problem. The other F's motor works fine on the camera originally mated with the defective motor, so I have pretty much ruled out the camera, battery pack and connector as the culprits.

Has anybody dealt with this problem before? If any of my fellow APUGgers have an idea, please let me know.
