Service to convert Holga Pan to a Holgagon?

Hi,

I have recently bought a Holgapan120 and am wondering if anyone offers a service to convert it to a Holgagon. I would consider either a fixed or rangefinder focus.
Doing this myself is not something I think I can manage

Following that instruction is a easy thing for anybody who ever modified or repaired a camera.

Guilty m'lud! I made and posted that pdf so folks could make their own. It is very easy to do this modification and nothing but hand tools are needed.

The hardest bit is setting up the focus with the helicoid. A spare Fresnel screen from a 6x6 camera makes the job a lot easier. Put the whole lot on a tripod and focus on a landmark that is several miles away for infinity. Then set the focus on various nearer landmarks and paint the helicoid with spots of paint making a note of each one. Then set the focus on things nearby that you can measure the distance with a tape and add some more paint spots to the helicoid. Then use Google Earth to get the distances of those nearer landmarks and make a sheet that lists all the distances against the spot codes and stick the list on the back of the camera.

I like that idea with that velcro cover.

That key-tag... well, holgaloid.

The key tag is held there by Velcro too. I have one for each film I use and just swap them over to suit.

The 90mm Angulon is ideal because it is so compact and it has an enormous image circle. You get sharpness right into the corners.

Sorry to reply twice but have a question. I have an Angulon and a rangefinder coming from Ebay, but am wondering if there is any reason to use a 58mm step ring as Randy shows on Holga Mods? I have filters in 55mm and 52mm but not 58 I don't think. Thanks

No need to buy new filters. The Angulon has filter thread of 40.5mm. You need a step ring for 40.5mm to either 55mm or 52mm.

They are easily obtained on eBay. UK price is less than £2 each.

Just thought I'd ask as I too have recently acquired a 120 pan and have considered "modding" mine.

Anyone know if I could use a Schneider-Kreuznach 150 5.6 APO Symmar ? I am not familiar with LF at all but I think the lens I have (antique store find) is a lens for 4x5" - wondering if it could somehow be used to craft a Holgagon...

I 'm not definite but I believe the distance of the lens to film plane is too close and would not work for the 150 which is why 90's are typically used. At least if you want to mount that lens on the existing cone of the Holga pano. Anyone confirm?
