Hello , everyone . I new here , but a few may know me from Fred Miranda where I Moderate . I have a new intrest in my old film stuff and was wondering if Canon or any independent service center still works on and cleans FD lens.

Thanks in advance for all the help you can give me . I have been lurking for a few weeks when I could.

Canon stopped servicing FD gear back in the 1990's. As for independents, try the Canon FD discussion group on Yahoo. They list several camera repair shops that service Canon FD stuff.

Ah yes... Yahoogroups/CanonFD. (Hi Jim!) I don't really visit there much these days, but check the archives. Ken Oikawa would be a good place to start. He's known for his work on bodies, but will work on lenses too and is a former Canon service tech, IIRC. Last I knew, he had no internet communication, but had phone/fax access. I do not have the numbers handy, but pm me if you can't find them and I'll look for his phone number.

Where are you located, Tom? That may help us to help you. I know of a shop in St. Louis where the I had one of my FD lenses repaired last year.
