Does anyone know the size of the thread on a Series VI filter mount? It appears to be about 45mm. Is it even a standard (i.e. modern) filter thread size?

Thanks. 44mm seems right. It's just a skosh bigger than a 43mm filter. It seems that there is no standard 44mm filter size, anyway. So I'll look for a good series VI filter.

Let me do some digging, what filters do you need? You may want to check Ebay and KEH as well, they have them by the tons.

RE: Series VI Filter ring

I bought an "M44-M55" step-up ring from B&H recently. The 44mm male thread screws into the Series VI Adapter Ring where ordinarily the Series VI retaining ring goes. I don't remember if other step-sizes than 55mm were available.

I'm trying to get a UV filter. My 35 Graphic doesn't have a lens cap (from what I can tell, that's how they were made). So I'm wanting to get something on it to protect the lens. I've been looking on that auction site and will probably pick one up there.

The series VI adapter is already a big, honking thing sitting on top of the little 31.5mm O.D. lens. The last thing I need is a step up ring! .

Do the Series V filters have a holder that fits a 31.5mm (1-1/4") O.D. lens? Sorry it these questions seem simplistic, but I have been having a hard time finding specific info on the series filters on the web.

I'm sure they did make the 1 1/4" (31.5mm) size, it's a very common size. (I have a Series 6 in that size) I have in Series 5 a 28.5mm that fits my Contaflex, a Bay I for my YashicaMat (or Rolleiflex) and a 30mm that is too small for my 35 Graphic. Since I don't shoot the Graphic, I haven't looked for the 31.5mm. I find most of mine by rummaging in the long forgotten drawer of Series holders at my local old fashion camera store. This one has been in the same location for 57 years. I worked there over 9 years ago so still have the priviledge of going behind the counter and looking for odd stuff.

Brian, you are very lucky to have a local "old fashion camera store"! I'm lucky to find archival sheets at the camera stores here in Dallas. I just ordered a generic 30.5mm lens cap from Adorama and figure I can make that fit one way or another. Hopefully I can find a filter for it, too. But at least I'll breath easier if the lens is protected.

For future reference, the 30.5mm lens cap fits like a charm.
