I have this Minolta MD 50/2 lens missing its rubber focus ring grip. Otherwise, it's fine. Those rings are pretty impossible to find. I usually have to buy another lens to get one. I tried to sell the lens as-is but could only get measly offers,

Then I bought a thrift store camera bag that had a lens inside I wanted plus some other stuff. Among the other items was an unwanted Quantaray 4-element 2X teleconverter with a little rubber grip ring that seemed to serve no purpose. I thought it looked like it might fit my Minolta lens. It came off easily and, to my amazement, it fit the MD lens perfectly. No trimming was needed and I didn't even need to use any adhesive because it fits so snugly. It even looks like the original Minolta ring. What are the odds?
