sepia tone:MG IV RC and MG IV FB

I'm doing a job where the prints I produce must be sepia toned.My problem is I'm restricted to a 25 sheet pack of Ilford MG IV Fibre base paper.Given this restriction,I was going to make test prints on MG IV RC paper to fine tune the exposures and toning times.My question is will there be any significant difference between the two papers as it applies to the final image,which will be on the fibre base paper?.

Doug, I find the two papers very close, especially in paper speed. You may need to adjust contrast slightly. The RC will get you in the ballpark. When going to final print on FB run small test strips for exposure in the highlights around the time you found on RC, then see where your blacks fall. I find RC useful for quick test prints to get near a final print, but FB paper isn't much more expensive, so I do all my tests on the same paper as the final print. But I do understand your situation.

Hi, the fiber and rc differ in exposure and toning times, so it's kind of a waste of time to use the rc for fine tuning. I would skip the RC and just use fiber.
