I don't think it has a shelf life to speak of. I have never thrown any out due to lack of activity. Usually end up contaminating it or spilling it accidentally, or titrating it so many times I don't know what it is anymore.

I have read that the NaOH activator will cause some problems in long terms storage in plastic bottles, but I have not seen that. Talking about two years here.

In the kit I have, the NaOH activator actually comes in a small plastic bottle, so it's probably not a problem.
