Selling my beloved Blad gear. Wondering what the going prices are.

Mid 70's - 500CM body with waistlevel finder
Chrome lenses - 80mm, 50mm T*, 150mm
3 - A12 backs, one fairly new and two old ones. The old ones I would just give away with the body as they need CLA's.
Blad 45 degree metered finder (vary used but the glass is clear and the meter activates. I have no idea how accurate it is as I use a hand meter)

I have no idea what this stuff sells for these days. I looked on feebay and got an idea of what the completed listing are indicating, but what do you apugr's think?

I've made a lot of really fine images with this setup and I hate to sell it, but have to finance a purchase of HD video camera and underwater housing to go with it. Sucks. I will try and not shed to many tears over the stuff while I'm packing it up LOL.

Buy the diving equipment used and keep the Hassie. You will not get as much as you would like to.

It's pretty miserable what Hassy gear goes for these days and I agree with Sirius that you might just want to hang onto it. I'd say you probably have around $1000 worth of kit there if you were selling it on the evil auction site and everything is very clean.

Ooh, very good point, I actually saw someone who had a housing built for his ELX and a 30mm f/3.5 fisheye. No idea how that was a wise investment but it looked pretty darn cool.

It is only a good idea if you snorkel or scuba dive.

Ebay completed auctions or KEH's website are my main pricing sources. KEH is often at the middle to high range of ebay completed auction pricing.
With the possible exception of magazines, it won't be anywhere remotely close to what you paid though, even if you didn't buy it used.

If you really want to make maximum amount from your gear, do not sell them as a kit. List them separately and you will get more money. It might take longer to though.

Unless of course you're a recent college grad, hoping to acquire photographic perfection...

I agree that you should sell it separately on eBay, but sell it all at the same time. Make a point to mention your other gear for sale in each auction and offer combined shipping. Plus, I strongly recommend being open to shipping internationally. I just sold three photo-related things on eBay for above average prices; 2 are going to Hong Kong and 1 for Canada.

If you are selling separately make sure that the auctions end in the right order. Ie camera body first then back, finder, lenses...
Now someone that would like to buy a body and a lens can bid on both. If I loose the bid on the body I can retract the bid on the lens. If the auction on the lens ends before the body I will not bid on either as I might be afraid of being stranded with only a lens.

If you do decide to sell it separately, do not split items that originally were a kit.
A body, for instance, must be sold together with a focusing screen, finder (folding waist level finder), and wind knob/crank. A magazine complete, and together with the slide.

Retracting a bid on eBay is hard, if not impossible. So that right order thing may not matter much.

Yeah, but if you've got extra magazines, lenses, etc., sell those separately in case someone might not need a complete "starter-kit". Then you are catering to both the person who wants a whole outfit and can bid on your different auctions, plus the person who just needs one thing, like a lens, or a body.

It's only miserable if you are trying to sell. If prices were truly miserable I would already have one to call my own. Though I have to admit, I have seen a few go for prices that were temptingly close to what I would be willing to pay. It seems like the lenses still go for good money, though.

No need to retract anything. If the camera body slips away you just don't bid on the other equipment. That's why order is important.
