I have in my freezer 6 rolls of 30,8m of Agfa APX 100 expired 01/2009. I've had a roll in my bulk loader for a year and it is only half empty so I was wondering if these could be sold or more specifically for how much? I know it's been discontinued, and was a portrait favourite.
I ask because this is nice film, and unless there is real money in these, I'd rather shoot it myself.

So... if you've bought or sold a 30m roll of this stuff recently please let me know how much it went for.

PS. I know it sounds like I am trying to make an easy buck speculating in film, but I'ts not like that. I'm just trying to find out if it's worth the trouble. If I can sell it and take my girlfriend out for pizza, awesome. If it'll only afford me McDonalds, I'd rather have a lifetime's supply of apx.

I dunno, that's more like a weekend supply :D

Oh wait, i read the distance wrong, lol. Bulk rolls. Yea, never mind me  I'd take one though!

Keep it. It's very nice film, and with Mirko and gang at Fotoimpex working on a new version of it, your outdated film probably isn't going to be worth that much.

If it were me, I'd shoot more 35mm and use it up. Consistency pays off.

A 100' roll went for 41.00 on eBay a few months back..

The film seems to be dropping out of interest. I watched a guy with 100 rolls 120 unable to sell them on ebay for 5.00 a roll. Also expired 2009.

Maybe people are just cautious about buying film on eBay ... I am after seeing some atrocious pictures of open film, etc. $5 roll seems high anyhow.

Emil, the problem is that this film can still be bought fresh and dirt cheap, at least in Europe, in 36exp cassettes. I don't think you can get good money from it. Why not use it and have fun?

that's right, i forgot... Even though they do not make it anymore, it's still around. I guess I will hang on to it.

Actually, while I stopped looking for it, under the impression that Agfa had ceased its photographic business, a new entity has appeared calling itself Agfaphoto, and, annus mirabilis, it is selling a film that it calls Agfa Scala, at B & H and other reputable dealers. Does anyone know whether this is in fact a resurrection of the great Agfa Scala of days gone by, or is it a more standard film to which the old name has been attached?

The problem is APX100 is virtually identical to Kodak's Tmax 50 in most respects, sorry misnamed by Kodak as Tmax 100. It's just that the Agfa film is a full stop faster in effective film speed.

A truly great film.

I've only shot one roll of Tmax 100, so take this for what it's worth. I discovered mid-roll that my camera meter appeared to be one stop off and I had been over exposing by 1 stop. I then changed and shot the remaining half of the roll at ISO 100. Looking at my negatives after developing in Rodinal suggested 100 ISO may be real close. The negatives on the first half of the roll were quite dark.
