Just wondering if anyone can recommend a self-timer that is powerful enough to work with the focal plane shutter on the Speedgraphic. I've seen mention of the Kodak Self-Timer, but it seems like there are a couple of variations of it, a silver rectangular shaped one or a cylindrical one. Will the Autoknips work with it? Or the Prontor?

The silver rectangular Kodak is a good strong self-timer.

I can't find my two Autoknipsor Prontor, I have three Japanese self-timers and their throw is not long enough for a Speed Graphic. I also tried a pneumatic release and it's the same problem. Using a cable release needs little pressure, so that's not an issue,

welcome to Photrio BTW.

Thanks, they are inexpensive enough, I just ordered the rectangular one off of ebay. We'll see!

Edit: thanks for mentioning the "throw" - seems that the shutter releases I have are not long enough! I'll have to source one now.

My Speed Graphic self-timer is of the old "one one thousand, two one thousand..." variety, so Today I Learned...
