I need to disperse the last of my late father's darkroom/photography supplies: unused 11x14 and 16x20 rag paper, mounting paper, interleaving tissue, rag mounting boards, foam core, etc. (I've already dispersed the enlargers, chemicals and printing papers.) I'm happy to pay for a Photrio classifieds subscription, but before I do, I have some questions.

1. Is there demand for these types of supplies on Photrio? (I couldn't find many similar items in recent postings.)
2. What do I call them? E.g., "Mounting supplies" or "Matting papers and boards"?
3. Which Phototrio workflow category tag is most appropriate, Analog or Hybrid?

Thanks!

1. Not sure.
2. Those are okay terms, if selling as a lot. Otherwise name each piece.
3. CLASSIFIEDS with any tag you want (all if possible) but if only one is allowed... analog, since it gets the most views.

Good luck. Sorry about your dearly departed... I know how difficult that can be.

I'll probably list the lot as "Matting, mounting and archiving papers and boards," and let folks make offers on all or selected items.

Regarding #3, I believe the Classifieds For Sale system requires sellers to pick a single tag (Analog, Hybrid, or Digital). "Matting supplies" doesn't appear to fit neatly into any of these categories. I suppose Hybrid would be the least inaccurate. Any thoughts?

Sean and the moderators may hate me for this.
I would start three threads - one in each classification.
One thread would have all the details - I would suggest the Analog one - while the other two would have a quick summary, plus a link to the one with the details.
I would lock the two threads that are limited to just links.

Hmm, that's an interesting approach. Thanks. I imagine in this situation the moderators would allow the rules to be "stretched" (if the tagging system doesn't quite apply).

Mat board and foam core can be expensive to ship due to weight (and to pack safely to prevent shipping damage). You might want to offer a more specific location on your profile to tempt local buyers.

Specify brands .

Thanks for all the tips. Yes, the weight likely will be cost prohibitive for shipping, even if I ask bargain prices (hard to compete with B&H's free shipping). Unfortunately this stuff is in a rural location, so local buyers will be unlikely. But one way or another I'll find a home for the items, even if I have to give them away (I don't want it going to a landfill).

Talk to the frame shops in your area. They might want what you've got, might even frame something'somethings in trade.
