The show will be at the Hilton Hotel at 650 Terrace Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights. NJ 07604.

Transit:
From Newark: Penn Station Bus Lanes: number 76 bus. (About 45 minutes ride.) Get off at Pasadena Ave and Terrace Ave (several blocks past Williams Ave). Hotel can be seen close by.

From New York: Port Authority Bus Terminal: number 163 or 164 bus to Boulevard and Pasadena Avenue. (About half an hour ride.) Then you walk along Pasadena Avenue a few blocks to Terrace Avenue. Hotel can be seen close by. SSCS Aug 2018.jpg

Thanks, David! I'f I'm around that weekend I may hop on a bus.
By your previous posts I gather this is a monthly event. What else can you tell us about the show?

I actually do not attend, as, from Philadelphia (no car) I have to get to New York and then backtrack into northern NJ, It takes a total of four hours for what is, driving directly from Philadelphia, about 90 minutes. I could get off at Penn Station Newark, NJ, but the timing of the buses is a bit trickier. Either way, it is really a bit long to do for what I need (or talk myself into needing). I used to go up till a couple of years ago, but am now doing this only as a favor for Stan. But, at least I get free lifetime admission.

But, as I recollect, the show is decent and the proprietors are really nice (unlike the person who ran the last iteration of Second Sunday, were I was almost arrested for showing an interest in some other attendee's El Nikkor lens that he brought to sell), Stan and his wife, Susan, are people who never fail to exercise good manners. Today, I hate to say that that attribute is all too rare. - David Lyga

Yes, every month but during snowstorms might be canceled. If you take the bus, take along a good, detailed map, as it is a bit tricky to get off the bus at the right time. Have that map-grid implanted into your brain, in advance. - David Lyga

If you take the bus from New York, you are going to have to walk a few blocks eastward when you get off at Pasadena Avenue from the Boulevard, and then be met with an expressway (which you must get around by walking about one block southward to cross it safely). It is a little frustrating, but doable. - David.

I have very, very little room left in there. I'd have to rearrange the furniture a bit. I'll see what I can do, though!

Thanks again, David. I would be completely unaware of this were it not for your post.

My comment was a bit abstract: BRING a detailed map so you will not get confused. In this technological age that should not be hard to do (even I can do that). For bus info from either Newark Penn Station or New York Port Authority Bus Terminal, go to NJTransit.com - David Lyga

Thanks again, David, for bringing this show to my attention. I went (I ended up driving), had a nice time and spent some money on things I needed.... and some things I really didn't! It was a small group of vendors and a small turnout, but it was fun. I'll definitely return!

Wow - a camera show every month. It's good that such a show is only a yearly event here: for those of us with the unspeakable addiction, anything more frequent would be fatal.

We got even twice-a-week fleamarkets here... luckily chance to spend there big money on a camera typically not exists. But then, in the long term the shear amount...

And then the shelves and boxes at some camera stores... a lot of seduction.

Thus I decided no longer to visit camera shows.

David,

Let's arrange for a future show so I can pick you up at the train station and bring you back there. Anything for a fellow Terrier.

I am really amazed that so many did not know that this show exists. It has been around for a LONG time, but, as I said, the previous person who ran this I ran afoul of, and for 'reasons' which tax one's sanity. (I could not deal with the aggressive, insulting pettiness.) The PRESENT owners, Stan and Susan Vogel could not be better representatives of the human race.

dynachrome, If you keep tempting me I might re-consider, but, really, I have so much stuff and don't need any more. Whether a 'Terrier' is something I should want to be, I do not know, as, (if this is 'sports') I have no idea what that is as I hate professional sports, forever and ultimately. To wantonly praise someone making $10 million per annum and 'wish' to treat him like he is the Second Coming makes me rather ill. I NEVER could understand how so many persons' very lives are authenticated ONLY by a 'win' from their respective 'team'. I do not understand such a purposeful sullying of the human mind. We are better than that. - David Lyga
