Hello,

some time ago I read a description of a historic folder camera which had a film format of 6x11 or 6x12. I tried to google for it, but could not find a thing. It was a german manufacturer, Agfa or Voigtlaender or Zeiss?!

I just can't remember the name. Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance,

Heinrich

Oh - there's a 6,5x11cm Inos too - also Voigtländer.

I have seen quite a lot of larger format folders (all plate I think) in the antique shops here, but I havent looked closely - most dont seem as wide as 2x1. I dont get the impression that panoramic was that popular (why waste expensive lens coverage) and most of the really wide plate sizes were for stereo, thought I am not an expert.

Is panoramic really something that came in with modern wide angle lenses?

Ole, thank you sooo much. The Inos is exactly what I meant.

Justin, look at the work of Lartigue, that will answer your question.

Regrds and many thanks....Heinrich

Kodak also made many cameras for the 116 format, which was about 6.5x11cm.
Also I beleive Zeiss ikon made their ikontas in a "d" size, which was a similar format.
