I am constantly looking for film with famous photographers, that I can show my students.
I have a few. (Sally Mann - Jock Sturges - George Hurell - and a few more..)
But I'd love it, if it turns out, that some others would be on DVD (or VHS)..
Like Irving Penn - Josef Sudek and the like..
How about making a list of ready available films in here?
Do you know of any of interest? then please let me know..
There was a thread of fictional movies that portrayed photographers. If looking for actual documentaries, here's a partial:
Fred Picker -Black & Whie Photography
Shelby Lee Adams - the True Meaning of Pictures
Roots of California Photography
Edward Burtynsky - Manufactured Landscapes
Ron Partridge - Outta My Light
Strand - Under the Darkcloth
Dan Estabrook -the Photographer Series
Keith Carter - the Photographer Series
Brett Weston - Photographer
Jay Dusrd - Keeping the West Western
and my favorite
Eloquent Nude - Ed & Charis Weston
Let's see.
I have mostly videos on
Ruth Bernhard
Edward Weston-2 videos and 2-DVD's
Brett Weston-DVD
Ansel Adams-2 videos
John Sexton and Ruth Bernhard
Christopher Burkett-DVD
Dorathea Lang-DVD
and a Luminous Landscape interview with Charles Cramer
And a public TV interview with John Wimberley.
I wonder if it would be against copyright law if I convert my Videos into DVD's?
I wouldn't sell them just want them on disck for easier viewing.
Any thoughts?
