Some how I ended up on the mailing list for Sundance Catalog. Closely affiliated with the film festival and full of very expensive stuff I would never buy, but the cover has the model looking through the view finder using a cable release.
COnsidering the price of what is in it they could have let her hold a rollei or something.
This was posted in another thread (this forum??). They also sell the Seagull in the catalog for a staggering $295! Last check at B&H was something like $140. That's the price you pay for trying to be trendy I suppose
Bought three or four Seagull TLRs for my high school photo classes back when they first became available through Freestyle for $35-40 new (mid 90s). The made good enough pictures but they didn't last long. I'll never forget opening the first box and finding red dirt - presumably from the factory floor - in the bottom of the box. Oddly, that particular camera worked better longer than any of the others.
Was that one of those Lomographic Society package deals that is featured in Urban Outfitters here in the States? That package includes a book on "Lomography" (their word, not mine), and a few accessories. It's ridiculously overpriced here: about $70.00 last time I checked. I suspect that might be what you're describing, because I can't imagine how a Holga by itself could be marked up as far as you've described.
