I honestly have no clue. I wondered the same thing.

i have one of the newer seagulls. circa 2001

the viewing glass is bright, the lens decent when stopped down, and the winder is ok if you are not brutish.

Like all things opinions are subjective. I like mine, but i wouldn't spend the money again on one.

There are much better values to be had. meopta, richoh, minolta all made decent tlrs.

Wow. $280 for a seagull. These days, the list of TLRs you can't buy for $280 is pretty short.

I have one Seagull and the lens is quite soft. And you should not change shutter speed with the shutter cocked. Other than that it is functioning. Nothing spectacular. I paid $140 for mine new.
Spend double on a decent Rolleicord or the same on an old Rolleicord and you will have a much better lens. And camera.

An other thing I noticed on my Segaull. The distance markings on the focus wheel have very little resemblance with reality. You have to focus with the viewfinder. If the distance is 3m you can not rely on the scale. Unless of course you use a very small f-stop.
