Screwdriver set recommendation?

My current set of small slotted-head screwdrivers is an old Sears Craftsman set. I frequently find that for camera and lens work, the screwdriver of the proper width has too thick of a blade for the screw. Can anyone recommend a specific brand or set that either has thinner blades for each width, or takes well to being ground thinner without losing temper?

The sizes that interest us, have tips I assume to be tempered all through, if at all.

The Wiha Philips tips seem to me not hardened at all. Their flat tips I have not really stressed.

It's funny, because last night I ordered some focusing helix grease from Amazon and that same screwdriver set came up as a suggested purchase. But, because of the price, and the kid's markers-like packaging design, I figured they were no good. But, for $13 and with two recommendations, seems like I should give them a try.

The Vessel sets screw drivers have the rubber grips, for the user to move up or down the segmented shafts, for a more convenient grasping action

I have found these a nice detail, something most other makers do no do.

IMO.

WIHA has a set of eight (8) precision, slotted screwdrivers, in small roll canvas, for about $34 U.S., and free shipping for Prime Members, on Amazon. These shafts run from 40mm - 60mm.

Vessel has set TD-55, six shafts from about 12mm - 25mm, from .09 - 3.5mm.

Personally, a good standard set, say from Kronos, is ok, if you do no need the longer shafts, and the Wiha is in my opinion, the better buy.

If you do no need a full set of slotted screwdrivers, the Harbor Freight, insolate precision tool set is a good choice for manually thinking down the blades, at the same time giving you some protection from electricity, when Working on powered projects.

IMO.

I ordered mine straight from Japan (pre-covid) and they arrived very quickly. What is nice is the extra length for better torque if you need it on the larger screwdrivers.

The length of a screwdriver is not related to the torque one can transfer, as long the grip is the same, and as long the grip is freely accessible, and not within the device, so that you you only can transfer force by means of fingertips.
Maybe the latter is what you referred to.

Been meaning to get back to this thread - I ended up with the Vessel TD-56 set and so far it's been exactly what I was looking for. Might pick up a few of these other suggestions eventually as well.

It's a bit of a cliche, but I've been happy with the iFixit kit. I've got the pro-tech version which is designed for cell phones, but it's worked pretty well so far on cameras as well. Includes some plastic tools for separating parts, as well as some very nice tweezers (regular and reverse). Also includes four JIS bits (J000 J00 J0 J1).

It is magnetic, which is both good and bad.
