Screw thread on De Vere 504

Hello, Ineed two spare screw to mount my new DV 504 on the wall.
Can someone tell me what is the thread of these screws, on the back of the 504 colomn to adapt the wallmount bracket.
I guess it's a 5/16-18 but I'm not sure.

Can't help with that thread, but for a few Euros you could buy a thread gauge for as well Metrical as Witworth threads. Together with a caliper and and table comparing metrical/UNC sizes you got all you need to establish threads within the photographic field.

Just take the bolt into a hardware store they should be able to sell you matching spare bolts, I think they are metric but offhand I don't know the size. I checked the manual for my 5108 but there's no mention of sizes.

You've reminded me I need to fit the stabiliser bars to my column, it's the same as the 504 and 507 only the heads differ.

If you have a problem send me a PM and I'll take one of my bolts into my local store.

Thank's but hardware store don't have "exotic" threads here in France. It will be much faster and cheaper to order it on the net. Just need the thread info.

Well, actually the fastest and cheapest solution would be to keep and use those screws and add a lug with a hole protruding over the casing.
Or to retap the existing holes, but that likely would need to open the casing to take care of shavings.

My internet access went down or I'd have confirm Whitworth threads I was going to suggest ringing Odyssey they are very helpful.

You still got local hardware stores other than the big DIY stores?

One in almost every town here and often cheaper than the DIY chain stores, bolts like this can be bought singly as well, and not in a pack. There's also some smaller chains.

However these days they won't have Whitworth bolts, that's a specialist order as we went Metric years ago.
