I recently stumbled upon a substantial cache of older screw-base flashbulbs, mostly 22s. I am looking for a flashgun to put them into, but I can't seem to find one that the star wars fans haven't jacked the price up on. Ideally, I am looking for one with a 7" reflector for under $30. Does anybody know of any brands or styles that could be this cheap, or am I stuck paying $100 for something I could have got for $10 at a yard sale five years ago?

I was kind of hoping that whole light saber thing was dieing down, guess not, huh?

Sadly the destruction of so many has driven up the price in the photo camp as well. They are getting pretty rare. I think your best bet is as you mentioned, yard and garage sales where the seller doesn't realize the value.

Blerg. It's about time to start making our own. Shouldn't be hard: alkaline batteries, standard household bulb socket, jack for flash sync cable.

You can still find Graflites on eBay for $50 but you may need some patience.

That was fast...I just found a Graflite 3-cell for $30. Turns out the guy didn't know he had a star wars fan's wet dream. Either way, it's one more saved from the fanboys.

Thanks, Nick. Tools should always be used, never enshrined.

pardeescamera on ebay has a complete unit with reflector $40.00 buy now. 12-14-10
