Not sure if this is the correct part of the forum for this, so mods please move if you think otherwise. My question is what sort of images do you use as a screen saver and how often do you change it? I use a variety of other photographers images and change them about once a week. My present one is this by HCB-

I think I usually use a different term - desktop background - for what you are referring to.

In any event, I usually use something I've shot myself. It is a good way of getting a sense of how well a photo will stand up to:
a) repeated viewing; and
b) numerous distractions.

Naturally, the choice of photographs is somewhat constrained - I don't like using something that makes it difficult to find something on my desktop.

I've had the attached as my desktop background for a little while now.

I use my own photographs for a background on my Mac.

I use this
attachment.php

as a background for my Windoz 8.1 machine because the laptop is a POS.

My own shots. This one works well as wallpaper too.

Right now I'm just using the stock XFCE logo wallpaper. I've used pictures I've taken myself, especially for the login screen. Once a photo of an abstract painting a friend had made. Another time I used the aquarium screen-saver as a desktop, but got bored with that.

I typically don't change often. I find something that is not too "busy" and leave it.

No screen savers. For the desktops - on my iMac, I have a section of Monet's waterlillies and on my laptop a B&W version of a slide I shot at Tintern Abbey. Most of the time, there's enough on the desktop to cover them up.

I always use my own pics, and I change them every 3 or 4 days. There's no real pattern, it could be anything, whatever seems to hit the right note at that moment.

I like electric sheep, it's pretty good. For screensavers, I tend to install all the ones available in Debian, and just let them all randomly cycle
