Dear friends,

I finally acquired an old the DTS 1030 version 3.4 with the Mac Quadra 9500 but no monitor with it because the owner need it and decided to keep it. I’m not a real computer savvy and hope you can help.

1. Can I use this scanner for other current Mac system or PC (because the system is obsolete and I can’t find the monitor to use with?

2 . How does the Mac Quadra 9500 support the 1030 if I scan at 2000-4000 dpi on the 8x10 negative file ( let’s say 2GB-4 GB file) with 512MB in the hard drive originally back in time?

Regards,

Tri Tran

Your best place to ask is on the Yahoo "Scan Hi-end" group

Dead Link Removed

Or on the Yahoo Screen 1045 group (which I don't have a link for right now).

But as far as I know, you should be able to run it on anything that can run Mac OS8 or maybe OS 9 and use a SCSI card for connection. There might also be PC software which could open up really large file sizes (beyond the 2 to 4 GB limit). If it has an ADB dongle, then about the newest machine is a Blue/White Mac G3 which you can hop up to 1GB ram and 1Ghz processor with a several GB hard drive.

As far as the monitor for that machine goes, just buy a Mac DB15 to high density DB15 adapter like this one:
http://www.welovemacs.com/adapters-monitor-adapters.html (top of the page). You should be able to find them all over ebay for just a few dollars.
