Hello, somehow I managed to majorly scratch the back of a strip of Kodak e100g film using pec 12 and ped pad as if i took sandpaper to it.

IF I have image scanned by west coast imaging do you think their Kami wet mount will eliminate this?

Wet mounting in my experience doesn't eliminate defects and it surely won't make large scratches you can see with your naked eye disappear. I know everyone says it does but I just don't see it. Good thing for the healing brush.

I did the same thing with a scrap Velvia slide- never letting PEC PADs near the emulsion side of my slides- What's the proper way to use PEC 12?

You need the healing power of Coolscan 9000 using Nikonscan ICE . . .

I try to make sure my film doesn't need cleaning, or just wash it again etc.

I've found PEC-12 leaves more residue than anything I've ever seen, despite fraudulent claims to the opposite. It does however dissolve developer tar, so good for cleaning prints for marks that water doesn't clean off.

Just spray some on some glass or clear plastic and wait for it dry and see for yourself.

thanks for Suggestion, Les. I tried nikon 5000 scanner with ice. I will try my nikon 9000 scanner as it has different type light source. i talked to man guy at west coast imaging re tango drum scan. he said kami fluid will not eliminate the visibility of scratches.
