A few notes: I use laboratory grade RO/DI water for all processing steps, start to finish. I also use photo-flo in this water for final soak before drying, a few drops per half liter.

Here's a kicker: I just looked at rolls developed using ID-11 + Ilford Rapid Fixer and these marks are absent.

The rolls that exhibit them were ALL developed in FX-39 and fixed with TF-4, and actually come from BOTH of my Hasselblad backs, an A12 and C12. I don't have any processed using this combo that are free of the marks.

Two films have been affected: Ilford Delta 100 Pro and Ilford Pan F plus 50.

Any thoughts on this chemistry and why the marks?

No, no wiping or squeegee. The marks randomly start and stop and aren't paired like the sides of drips. My wondering is if this is some chemical crazing of some sort.

I'm no expert, far from it, but that looks like some sort of mechanical stress. See how the emulsion seems to have "chipped off" on the right. Could be some processing/handling issue. Did you notice any particles floating inside any of the solutions during developing?

Or maybe, your combination of chemistry causes the emulsion to swell/contract abruptly, causing the marks. But I'm no expert on that either.

This looks like some sort of physical abrasion. I've used quite a bit of FX-39 and TF-4/TF-5 in the past and never had any issues with that combination. Sorry, I know that doesn't help...these kinds of problems are always a bugger to figure out.
