I have a lens made by The Scientific Lens Co., New York. It's marked "11x14" on the barrel and "Extreme W.A. Anastigmat" on the front. The EFL is somewhere around 9". Aperture runs from f/16 to f/256 in the old uniform system. I wonder if anyone here has used this lens and what your experience is.

My first attempts last year to use it on 11x14 showed a noticeable softness at the edges even when stopped down. It's only just now occured to me to try it on 7x17 since the diagonal of that format is so close to that of 11x14. On the 7x17 it shows good illumination well out to the corners. I'm sure the softness is there, but my pictorialist leanings find that kind of endearing, especially if the resulting print will be Pt/Pd. All that remains is to make some exposures.....
