I bought this lens some time back primarily for the shutter - the 10 aperture blades on this older style Copal 3 makes for a rounder opening. It also has the nonlinear aperture scale (non-constant distance between f-stop markings) common to the older-style shutter. But reality is setting in and that reality is that my aging back doesn't appreciate the larger, heavier equipment that goes along with 8x10, so round aperture or not I don't see a future here at maison Steve for this. Time for a new home.
This single-coated lens is in very good condition with the usual Schneideritis. There are no dents or dings of consequence save for a scratch on the mount spacer and the glass is clean and clear with no obvious defects, certainly nothing that'll affect your images. Schneider says it'll cover 337mm at f/22 so it offers a tad of movement for what amounts to a modest wide-angle on 8x10. The shutter works and sounds appropriate on all speeds. It includes both parts of the mounting ring and seemingly original caps. This is a substantial lens, weighing 895 grams and accepting 86mm filters.
Asking $275 in US dollars, which includes shipping and PayPal fees within the US. Non-US buyers please contact me and we'll figure it out, but keep in mind that international shipping is not a bargain. PayPal is fine, a check drawn on a US bank is finer, and a US Postal Money Order is finest.
