OK, I just saw a Schneider-Kreuznach 210/370 f5.6 "Technika" Symmar in a Linhof shutter on a Plaubel board.

Is this lens any different than the standard S-K 210 Convertible Symar or was it just branded for sale with a Linhoff?

Here is a regrettably bad set of photos...

I have the non-Technika version of this lens and it's performed wonderfully, even with two rather sizable piece of solid black dust inside the rear element.
As far as I've been told the Technika version is manufactured exactly the same, just undergoes further testing before it can be labeled as such.
Basically it's just a way of ensuring you're getting a good specimen of this lens.

There seems to be a rumour that the Linhof "select" lenses are better than the average lens. Apparently Linhof test each and every one that goes with their cameras to make sure that they pass muster. I guess that means that you have a good 'un!

Tony, Linhof's selection process eliminates clinkers. That's all. Not so important with aged lenses since it doesn't protect against abuse.

Ah, very good. Thank you each and every one; that is good to know!
