Alan, it is an enlarger lens and having click stops does help when using an enlarger as one reaches up and clicks through however many stops from wide open to reach your working aperture.
Seamless aperture settings on an enlarger lens is an extremely helpful feature when using a light meter under the enlarger for correct illumination settings as you move the enlarger head up or down.
While at times I have thought having click stops in LF lenses would be good, once I started working with lenses that were calibrated and marked with a scratch (for wont of a better description) I realised having click stops was a possible pain with LF photography. The calibrated lenses were marked at the actual correct f/stop and marked in calibrated 1/3 stops to the next stop, worked brilliantly.
