The reason this looks like a Linhof ball head is that Schiansky made Linhof tripods until about 1970 when Linhof acquired Schansky. Made in Munich, Germany. Works great, fits either 3/8 or 1/4" tripod screw (includes 1/4" bushing). New cork material on base. Base is 2-7/8" diameter. top plate is 1-5/8" diameter. Height of tripod (top) screw is adjustable. $60 shipped within the USA
